Position: Shipping and Receiving Assistant Company: Yonder Cider Work location: Wenatchee, WA Full Time or Part Time: Full Time Reporting to: Production Manager About the Position: The Shipping and Receiving Assistant is responsible for loading and unloading freight, as well as maintaining all appropriate records. This full-time position will also be responsible for keeping a bi-weekly inventory and working closely with logistics. These tasks and those listed below may involve lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, and taping 50lb+ cases of bottles and cans, driving a forklift, and working in a team environment. This is a fast-paced working environment. About Us: We are a rapidly growing cidery based out of Wenatchee, Washington (production) and Seattle, Washington (taproom). Established in 2020, we are distributed throughout Washington state, with a shared taproom in the heart of Seattle’s Ballard Brewing District. Picked and pressed in Wenatchee, Washington – the heart of Apple Country – we create cider that's as balanced, bright and complex as the land itself. Crafted using a blend of bittersweet cider apples and juicy dessert apples, our ciders are hardly simple, and never straightforward, but you can always count on them being interesting. About The Job: - Maneuver and organize shipments by operating a forklift for the majority of the work day - Ensure safe forklift operations in compliance with OSHA regulations - Build orders and stage products and material for loading and unloading - Maintain cleanliness of the production cellar by organizing dry goods and bulk materials - Ensure that shipping records, batch codes, and other information are retained and provided to the Production Manager - Assist with packaging operations When needed, assist on packaging line: - Assist with wrapping pallets as needed - Help ensure the team functions in a way that is both efficient and safe - Maintain a positive attitude and help foster a collaborative environment Other Tasks: - Demonstrate attention to detail during repetitive tasks - Follow all SOPs set forth by the Production Manager - Responsible for building and double checking shipments - Building, loading, and taping boxes of finished product - Driving a forklift in a busy environment - Stacking dry goods and finished inventory with forklift - Loading/unloading delivery trucks with finished product - Help keep the warehouse clean and organized - Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times - Other duties as assigned Skills & Qualifications: - Experience in a cidery, winery, or brewery preferred, but not necessary - High School Diploma, GED, or two years of work-related experience - Forklift Certification is a plus, but not necessary. Training provided, if necessary. - Ability to work flexible shifts, including extended hours and overtime as needed - Good reading, writing, and mathematical skills - Demonstrated ability to understand and follow directions, as well as listen and communicate with co-workers - Strong and proven work ethic, and ability to multi-task workload - Commitment to excellence in delivering a high quality product to our customers Physical Requirements: - Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl - Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. - Ability to be frequently exposed to wet condition and work in extreme cold - Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors and occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals - Ability to work near moving mechanical parts - Ability to work in a moderate noise level Compensation: Competitive pay to be determined based on experience To apply for this position, please submit resume and email cover letter to jobs @yondercider.com with “Job Application: Shipping and Receiving Assistant” in the subject line.
