Position: Cellar Assistant Company: Yonder Cider Work location: Wenatchee, WA Full Time or Part Time: Full Time Reporting to: Head Cidermaker About the Position: Cellar Assistant will assist the Head Cidermaker in all areas related to production. Operations range anywhere from producing cider, cleaning equipment, and preparing the finished product for sales and distribution. The ideal candidate pays attention to detail and is comfortable with a regular daily rhythm of critical and repetitive tasks to ensure quality and consistency. About Us: We are a rapidly growing cidery based out of Wenatchee, Washington (production) and Seattle, Washington (taproom). Established in 2020, we are distributed throughout Washington state, with a shared taproom in the heart of Seattle’s Ballard Brewing District. Picked and pressed in Wenatchee, Washington – the heart of Apple Country – we create cider that's as balanced, bright and complex as the land itself. Crafted using a blend of bittersweet cider apples and juicy dessert apples, our ciders are hardly simple, and never straightforward, but you can always count on them being interesting. About The Job: Cellar: - Assist Head Cidermaker in all areas related to production - Follow proper SOPs and remain competent in all areas of production - Tank cleaning - Preparation for product shipments - Nutrient Additions - Yeast handling and pitching - Filtration - Preparation of finished product - Quality assurance and control - Daily organization, cleaning Packaging: - Keg cleaning, racking, palletizing - Canning cider on the canning line - Bottling cider - Load/unload delivery trucks with finished product - Other duties as assigned by Head Cidermaker Skills & Qualifications: - Experience in a cidery, winery, or brewery preferred, but not necessary - High School Diploma, GED, or two years of work-related experience - Forklift Certification is a plus, but not necessary. Training provided, if necessary. - Ability to work flexible shifts, including extended hours and overtime as needed - Good reading, writing, and mathematical skills - Demonstrated ability to understand and follow directions, as well as listen and communicate with co-workers - Strong and proven work ethic, and ability to multi-task workload - Commitment to excellence in delivering a high quality product to our customers Physical Requirements: - Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl - Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds - Ability to be frequently exposed to wet condition and work in extreme cold - Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors and occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals - Ability to work near moving mechanical parts - Ability to work in a moderate noise level Compensation $18 per hour To apply for this position, please submit resume and email cover letter to jobs @yondercider.com with “Job Application: Cellar Assistant” in the subject line.
