Help Working on Antique Volvo?

Hello, I'm passionate about antique European cars and am trying to learn how do work on my cars myself. I have two old Volvos (1971, 1967) and a 1970 VW Beetle. The one I am focused on getting running is the 1967 Volvo 122s Amazon wagon. I bought it in June and have done a tune up on it so far including air, oil, and fuel filters, oil change, fuel pump, spark plugs, wires, rotor, and distributor cap. It starts and runs (not very well) and backfires. I am almost certain that the timing is off and that is what I am looking for help figuring out. Is there anyone that could come by and help with this? The car is currently in Rumford RI, but could also be brought to Little Compton to be worked on there. I want to get it running hopefully within the next week. Please let me know if you or anyone you know might be interested in helping me. Thanks! Tyler
