PHB invites the public and the vendors/onstage talent of the Asia Collective Night Market to join: “Peabody Heights Brewery’s Night Market Untapped!” -A multi-day, mini-night market series. Emphasis on MINI! FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! As of now, we are CAPPING AT 300 attendees at any given time, first come first serve per event. We hope this will produce a relaxed experience with shade indoor/outdoor, seating and bathroom facilities with running water. Eventbrite event page tickets REQUESTED BUT NOT MANDATORY they are requested in an effort to provide vendors with reliable stock forecasting and traffic control. All ticket donations are OPTIONAL and any ticket donations will go to talent and NAAAP Bmore. FREE STREET PARKING available for guests but not guaranteed. There is also a public parking lot two blocks from the brewery (32nd and Barclay). WHY WE ARE DOING THIS Last Saturday the ACNM threw an event that, for reasons that have been thoroughly covered by local news outlets, social media, and Reddit, did not meet our expectations. As a result, we made way too much beer and met less than 30% of our projected sales target. We know many vendors/onstage talent were dissatisfied with their experience as well. We hope our Night Market Untapped mini-event series can accomplish the following: 1. SELL OUR BEER! 2. UPLIFT and cast a spotlight on the AAPI VENDORS and TALENT unable to truly shine last Saturday. 3. The general consensus has labeled the ACNM a “nightmare”. As a Korean-American owned and operated small business, that hurts. Amidst rising AAPI hatred we feel the event has set back AAPI creatives and entrepreneurs. While we respect ACNM’s recent admission of responsibility, our hearts still drop with the sense that venues and event goers across the DMV will meet future AAPI events with cynicism citing the ACNM. We earnestly hope the anticipated success of our mini Night Markets can serve as a rebuttal to all those inclined to write off AAPI cultural events. 4.
