Let's give back to our neighborhood by cleaning it up! I'm sure we've all noticed that the streets and sidewalks around the makerspace are littered with trash. Let's change that.
For our first foray, we're limiting our available supplies to fifteen volunteers who will be provided the following thanks to Seattle's Adopt a Street program:
GlovesLitter grabbersGarbage bagsSafety vestsSafety trainingPlease wear closed-toes shoes, clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and bring a water bottle as well as supplies for if it rains. On the day of the event, we will meet at the makerspace for safety training. Volunteers will be required to sign this document and then be broken up into groups so we can cover more of the neighborhood. The event is booked for two hours, but folks are welcome to stay and help longer if desired.
If this is successful, we will look at making it a regular (and perhaps larger) event.
Proof of vaccination required. You may email this ahead of time to [email protected].
How to find us: We are in the first floor of the apartment building. Enter the main door and proceed past the elevators. Take the first hallway to the right. Exterior doors lock at 8:30pm. If you are not a member with a door code, please plan to arrive before then. Parking is street parking and plentiful in the area.
North End Makers is a community that runs a makerspace in North Seattle. We are an all-volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit. Learn more on our website at https://www.northendmakers.org/
