We will celebrate the founding members and legislators from around the country who have been the voice of advocacy on issues affecting the appointment of women at all levels of public and private industry with a goal to increase the participation of Black women in the educational, public, economic, and social arenas. A valid state issued ID and proof of vaccination is required. What We Do: We make a difference in the lives of people by investing in organizations that impact women, children, families and communities. HEALTHCARE REFORM Happy Periods - Black-led organization with a focus on menstrual health education, advocacy, and access.WOMEN’S ABUSE/DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - Covenant House who meets immediate needs for food, clothing, safety, and medical and mental health care to homeless teens.COLLEGE FOR TEENS PROGRAM - Annual Scholarships. Supports POLITICAL EMPOWERMENT - serves as a nonpartisan voice of advocacy on issues affecting the appointment of women at all levels of government with a goal to increase the participation of women of color in the education and politics. We strive to increase voter and civic participation. We support self government for the District of Columbia and believe statehood is a means of acquiring full rights for all citizens.
