Project Gaia NYC is bringing together the South Asian fashion and art community to the spotlight this NYFW. The founders of Project Gaia NYC, Aayka Fashion, Maalicious Jewelry, Maison de Papillon and artist Preeti Varma are collectively hosting a pre-launch event the eve of their NYFW pop-up! Each of these brands will be presenting their collections alongside a panel discussion with a Q&A format with the attendees. In line with the theme of cultural influences, food will be provided by Madamji, drinks by Junglee and sounds by A-Pam. This event is primarily invite only with limited tickets for the public. Preeti Varma - NYC based artist Preeti Varma explores interdisciplinary genres in her art practice such as, painting, mixed media, photography and sculptural installations. Her work celebrates the innocuous, ephemeral beauty of the mundane and poetics of our everyday lives by looking at the world in unfamiliar, wondrous ways. Preeti’s bold strokes, rich hues inevitably inspire the viewer with a sense of intrigue, hope and joy. Her works have been exhibited in shows and art fairs in USA and internationally, including Art on Paper New York, Texas Contemporary Art Fair, Singapore Affordable Art Fair and LA Art Show.
