GAME RULES----GAMES MONITORED----1. Straight Deal and Straight Cut ( No viewing of the bottom card when dealing and keep all cards face down when distributing cards to players). 2. Games will go to 350 or 30 minutes 3. The first hand bids Itself ( no losses or wins occur on the first hand except for a Boston ( this occurs when one team pulls all the books and the other team does not get at least one). Team points are made by number of books for ex 10 books equal score of 100. 3 books equal score of 30. 4. The highest card flipped over determines the first dealer 5. Dealer must offer the player to his/her right, the opportunity to cut the cards after they are shuffled and before they are dealt 6. All hands will be played regardless of the bid. If one team bids 4 and another team bids 5, the hand will play and the over books will make the difference as there is an immediate deduction for all books over. For example if you bid 4 and pull 8 you will not gain any points for that round. (Refer to rule 14 on this list) 7. We are not playing blinds or nil bids. Play the hands you are dealt and strategize accordingly. 8. Table Talk to your partner about the game during any hand of play is STRICTLY PROHIBITED and will result in an initial warning followed by a forfeit for your team. ( bring all concerns to tournament organizer who will make a sound judgement) 9. A player can not lead with a spade until a suit other than spades has been cut. 10. The order of Trump is as follows: Big Joker , Little Joker, Deuce of Spades Ace of Spades, etc. the deuce of diamonds and deuce of hearts are to be removed from the deck before the game begins. 11. Once a card is played, It can not be picked up unless the player has the fallen suit and catches it before the book is flipped. Otherwise "A CARD LAID IS A CARD PLAYED." So PAY ATTENTION!!!! 12. The cost of a Renege is 3 books to the opposing team⛔ Opposing team has 1 opportunity to choose and turn over whichever book they think is a reneged book/trick. If the opposing team gets the choice wrong then that opposing team loses 3 books/tricks to the "reneged" team. SO PAY ATTENTION TO ALL CARDS IN PLAY!!! ( Reneging happens when an opponent either cuts a fallen suit with a spade but has the suit played or throws off another suit during the play of a suit in his/her hand. All books collected by teams must be put in order as they make them for this purpose. 13. Not reaching your team bid (set)=Minus(number of books bid)x10pts Ex: Bid 6 books and make anything under 6 books= minus60 points. 14. Sand Bags: For each book a team makes over will result in an automatic 10 point deduction. For ex-team bids 5 and pulls 8, the team will lose 30 points towards the bid and receive score of only 20 for that hand. 15. A bid of 10 on any hand results in a score of 200 points that will be added to that teams score. -100 to the opposite team. 16. Regular Team Bid: One person will send the number of books in his/her hand counted individually to their partner who will then decide total bid (There will be no further discussion of possibles or telling your partner the number of books in your hand to restructure the bid). 17. Players may not throw their hands in for any other reason than not having a total of thirteen cards per round of play 18. Two sets at any time during the game equals a loss 19. Loud and Disruptive behavior towards opponents, other players or tournament attendees while in the venue, will result in forfeit of team entry and immediate removal from the tournament facility. 20. Championship Game goes to 500. Three sets in the game equals a loss or 2 sets back to back results in game ending and a tournament chamipion crowned. In the event of a tie score by 500, first team to 7 books the following hand wins the title.
