TROY, MI — A Troy man was arrested Saturday morning after a nine-hour standoff with officers, Troy Police said.
Police said the 22-year-old man began firing shots outside a home on Starr Drive at 11:43 p.m. Friday night, prompting his mother to leave the home and call police.
The shooter went back into the home and continuing firing shots while alone inside the house, as officers set up a perimeter around the residence, police said.
Officials tried taking to the man through the night, but police said he was agitated and did not want to talk to officers.
So officials from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office used a robot to search the home, police said.
However, officers found the man hiding in the backseat of a parked car in the home's backyard, police said. He was immediately arrested by officers at 8:35 a.m. Saturday.
Officials did not report any injuries during the nine-hour standoff.
