Rebuilding classic rock band
Meets
Morrisville PA
Description
Looking for talented, open-minded musicians to rebuild a 5-piece classic rock cover band. Desired line up includes 2 guitarists who will share lead duties, bassist, drummer and myself on keys, rhythm guitar and saxophones. Vocal ability is a plus, but not a show stopper. Lead vocal duties will be assigned to who can best handle the tune. No looking for a dedicated "lead singer" or "harp only" player as there is no room for solo acts. Ideally, everyone in the band will get a turn in the spotlight. Repertoire will include a wide collection of tunes and styles, such as surf tunes (Beach Boys, the Chantays, the Ventures, the Surfaris), British Invasion (Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Animals), psychedelic (Cream, Steppenwolf, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Blind Faith), Southern rock (Allman Bros, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Molly Hatchet, Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Synyrd), R&B, blues, soul (Sam & Dave, Eddie Floyd, Temptations, 4 Tops), the STAX sound (Booker T & the MGs), a touch of country (Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Toby Keith), and '80's/'90's tunes (Tom Petty, Toto, Flock of Seagulls, Simple Minds, Crowded House, Traveling Wilburys), spanning from the surf era to the early 2000's with the exception of doom, thrash, grunge, punk or excessive heavy metal. The list is too extensive and diverse to elaborate here. I own a rehearsal studio with complete backline located in Warminster (lower Bucks County), so there is no overhead expense for rehearsal studio time or scheduling issues. I provide lead sheets and MP3's in advance of the next scheduled rehearsal. "Practice" is done at home where you figure out the riffs and chord changes, however I avail myself to help resolve issues/questions prior to rehearsal. "Rehearsal" is when all of the prepared players meet at the studio and all of the individual parts are put together and smoothed into a final product. Although age is not an issue, you must be physically able to move and set up you own equipment as well as share in the unpacking, set up, break down and packing of common use band equipment before and after an engagement. We are our own roadies. If this sounds like a project in which you may be interested, please feel free to check out postings from previous iterations of the band at www.facebook.com/thewreckerdsband. Some are from live engagements and some were recorded in the studio. I prefer to do a meet-and-greet prior to scheduling any type of an audition to ensure we are working on the same wavelength and moving in the same direction as this is not the place for devise issues such as politics. It also gives you an opportunity to view the studio and listen to some previously recorded tracks of the material. Looking forward to creating positive energy and some great music!
