Thanks~Give~Sing is an opportunity to devote part of Thanksgiving day to actually, intentionally Giving Thanks through joining our hearts and voices in song!Let's face it... Thanksgiving is a day of complexities. Some have wonderful times gathering with family and friends and eating favorite foods. Others face immense grief, loneliness, or hunger. For some, grief is stirred by the very act of gathering with family or friends who might focus more attention on football, alcohol, and unconscious eating than they do on gratitude. Relatively few ever drop in enough to acknowledge that the whole holiday was established to commemorate the arrival of settlers to this continent, which brought the oppression and genocide of Native peoples, which continue to impact all of us to this day. Let's do it differently! Let's sing and lift up what we are truly grateful for as we raise money to help bring back the language and culture of the people who have lived here for thousands of years.Donations are welcome at the door. Please give what you can generously afford. Suggested donation $10-50 No one will be turned away for lack of funds.Proceeds support the revival of Chinuk Wawa, an Indigenous language once used by many tribes in the PNW.PLEASE PARK ON THE STREET OR IN THE FAIRGROUNDS LOT ACROSS 13th.
