Description

We're truly excited to welcome the Massachusetts film and media community to come together in person for an important and remarkable occasion! Please join us for a special evening to honor Lisa Strout, Director of the MA Film Office in her retirement from the state. At the helm of the Massachusetts Film Office since June of 2011, Lisa Strout has overseen the industry's expansion in the state to emerge among the top-tier locations internationally for producing film, television, and streaming content at the highest level. During her tenure, she has facilitated and attracted hundreds of major film, television, and streaming productions to Massachusetts that have generated billions of dollars in spending across the Commonwealth supporting thousands of jobs while growing a permanent industry. Navigating profound changes in the industry and ushering the Film Office into the modern era, the industry we enjoy today in Massachusetts would not be possible without her stewardship and prolific work. The infrastructure and resources she leaves behind for filmmakers, local crew, businesses and municipalities, will enable the industry to continue thriving for many years to come. In addition, Lisa has been a profound champion of causes in the community, promoting education, diversity, and film tourism across the state. She has been the very best kind of leader, partner, and friend. We hope you will join us for this special occasion to recognize her accomplishments and wish her well on September 19th at GBH in Boston. MPC Programs are made possible by the generous support of our Annual Sponsors, the Boston Cultural Council, and Cambridge Community Foundation. This event is presented with additional support from GBH The Production Group.
