We're halfway through a two-part series on conspiracies, and we've learned something: scratch any conspiracy theory deeply enough and you'll hear lots of talk about Satanism. Satanists are supposedly running the world, sacrificing kids, and generally responsible for every bad thing that has ever happened.
So what are we going to do? Hold my beer. We're going to actually invite a Satanist to have a conversation. No really. We're going to ask questions like: What do Satanists actually believe? Are they as big of a threat as the conspiracy theorists believe? What's with the goats? And then we're going to open up the conversation a bit broader and ask questions like: What do Christians believe about this? How do we show who we worship? How much does spiritual allegiance matter anyway?
You should check this out. It will be eye-openeing, thought-provoking, and memorable. And we may just go down in Houston history as the only Christian group that has intentionally invited the Satanists to our event.
And yes, everyone gets beer. We're going to need it!
Come hear our special guest, Casey Widdershins (from the Satanic Temple), along with our very own Evan McClanahan (not a Satanist) discuss these ideas. Then we'll have a large format group discussion where you can text your own questions in to our larger panel of pastors and professors, all while enjoying delicious craft beer!
