Primitiva Collective celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with an interactive event for all ages, featuring local hispanic author Pamela Michelli. Everyone is welcome at this community event to learn about and experience the Hispanic culture. Children can settle in for storytime as Michelli reads from her book "Daniela y Mateo Viajan a Puerto Rico", where they will be exposed to the Spanish language (maybe for the first time!) She will lead a traditional Puerto Rican dance, including a craft of making musical maracas to take home. Adults and children alike can enjoy typical food and drinks from a variety of Latin American countries. Together we'll collaboratively paint a map to see exactly where Latin America is in the world, and enjoy learning more about the culture.
