Please note: Two meetings are scheduled - Sat, Sept. 24 and Thurs, Sept. 29 - in order to accommodate the schedules of community members, but the agendas will be identical in format and subject matter, so it's only necessary to attend ONE of the meetings. The Fort Lauderdale Northwest Progresso Flagler Heights Community Redevelopment Agency commissioned a team of local consultants to prepare a Sistrunk Arts and Culture Implementation Plan. A core component of developing this plan involves the active participation of the Sistrunk community in establishing a vision for the plan that is centered on Sistrunk’s unique cultural, historical, and artistic assets and opportunities. For this reason, the team is hosting two upcoming community meetings/listening sessions at the L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center on September 24, 2022 and September 29, 2022. DATES: Sat, Sept. 24, 2022, 9am-12pm | Thurs, Sept. 29, 2022, 6pm-9pm LOCATION: L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center ADDRESS: 1409 NW Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311 Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to participate in several hands-on, interactive stations to identify area assets and challenges on maps, share potential opportunities or concerns, and review models and sketches, with the overall goal of ensuring the community’s ideas are captured and reflected in the final Sistrunk Arts and Culture Implementation Plan.
