BAY AREA, CA — The California Highway Patrol arrested nearly 130 Bay Area drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence over the holiday weekend.
All available Bay Area officers were out patrolling, looking for dangerous drivers from midnight Friday to midnight Monday.
CHP gave 1,500 speeding tickets to Bay Area drivers, 100 of which were given to drivers caught driving more than 100 mph, CHP said.
Law enforcement officers across the region are asking drivers to continue exercising caution as the rainy season causes wet roads.
