Busy Civil Engineering Contractor seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Technician to be responsible for the restoration, repair and readiness of all vehicles and heavy equipment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Repair and Maintain as needed (including but not limited to, Excavators, Bulldozers, Backhoes, Loaders, Rollers, Dump Trucks, Water Trucks, Skid Steers and Yard Trucks). -Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, paint and complete tasks as assigned. -Install, adjust, and repair production equipment, heavy trucks and special purpose machines as assigned. -Test and troubleshoot machinery, determine repairs and discuss with Head Mechanic for approval and repair as needed. -Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation. -Maintain work area appearance and safety. JOB REQUIREMENTS -Must have at least 3-5 years' experience as a mechanic repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipment. -Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record -- maintained at all times. -Class A License a plus. -Demonstrate competency in the diagnosis and repair of various heavy equipment product lines. -Capable of working individually and within a team environment at all times. -Ability to perform independently without direct supervision. -Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various heavy equipment product lines. -Safe work habits and history. -Ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment. -Must have own tools. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping and reaching. -Standing for extended period of time. -Able to work under extreme conditions such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust and dirt.
