We are a bustling, 21 year old, privately owned, companion animal hospital looking for full-time veterinary technicians to join our quickly expanding, client focused and quality-driven practice. Enjoy working with our digital radiology, CO2 laser in our surgery suite, in house lab and pharmacy, with supportive specialists easily accessible for ultrasounds and orthopedic surgeries. Our owner, Dr. Joanne Carlson, was the CVMA president as well as the current Vice President of ISVMA. Our hospital was recognized as the Best of the Best Veterinarian by the Daily Herald Reader’s Choice as well as ranked in the top 150 veterinary hospitals in the nation. Veterinary technicians must have a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine and husbandry. They must be able to communicate with pet owners in a professional, efficient, and caring manner. Technicians must be able to successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests, assist in radiology, administer anesthesia and monitor animals while under anesthesia, and assist in surgery. Technicians must deliver compassionate nursing care at all times. Job Requirements: Individual will have extended periods of sitting, standing, stretching and bending. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, as they will be lifting animals for exams, surgeries and procedures.Basic knowledge of pharmacy and sufficient math skills to ensure the administration of accurate drug and fluid doses.Know and use standard medical and business abbreviations.Use proper medical terminology when speaking to DVM’s or colleagues, and when writing notesAlso be able to break medical terminology down for clientsBe familiar with infectious diseases, internal and external parasites, and vaccinationsKnow the most common zoonotic diseasesVaccine schedules and the diseases they preventIf interested in the position please email a cover letter and resume to [email protected]
