10 year old male neutered long hair cat free to a loving home- preferably with no other pets. Please read full description!! I’ve had tucker since he was a kitten. He grew up with an senior dog in the home who did not have an interest in him. Once tucker turned 5 my mom got a puppy and Tucker began acting out as the puppy grew up by using the bathroom outside of his litterbox. I took tucker to college with me and he did well without the dog. I am now in veterinary school and adopted a dog two years ago. Tucker has not been the same since having my dog and will occasionally act out by going outside of his litterbox. I’ve tried many many different techniques to get rid of this behavior including testing for any underlying illness, behavioral medication, changing the litter type and getting different style litter boxes. I found a fix for about a year by keeping the litterbox in my shower- away from where the dog can mess with tuck while he’s using the box. In the past few months tucker has used the bathroom outside of his litterbox frequently. I even recently moved to my own apartment in hopes of giving tucker his own space separated from the dog and have not had much luck. It breaks my heart to rehome him. I know that in the long run this will allow him to be happier. I truly believe he will do just fine in a home without a dog. He will definitely need time to adjust, as he has been apart of several moves to various locations, houses, apartments, etc. I am open to doing a trial for a few months to make sure tuck adjusts well in his new home. Also open to any other ideas. Health history: tucker has routinely seen a vet every year of his life. He currently needs his rabies vaccine boostered. He had routine blood work completed in the last 2 years. He has had no major health problems in the last 10 years! Tucker will come with his cat carrier, two litter boxes a litter scooper and a bag of litter, his food container and two bowls, toys, brush, and the rest of the food that I have.
