Description
Poe is a 2-year old, indoor, spayed and chipped cat, who is up to date with all of her shots with a clean bill of health from the vet in July. She has double-double paws and is black but in the light she is what I like to call "chocolate with fudge stripes".
She was born with wobbly cat syndrome (Cerebellar hypoplasia) which affects the part of the brain that controls fine motor movement, balance, and coordination. It is neither contagious nor progressive. Basically, she walks like she's coming home from "last call" at the corner bar and gets the spins and falls down if she shakes her head too hard (this is similar to vertigo in humans).
We live in a house with stairs and this is not an ideal situation for a cat with CH and she has fallen down the stairs a few times with no injury, but we feel it will be dangerous as she gets older. She must be an indoor cat or she will be a predator snack in no time. We do take her in the yard with us in a harness and a dropped leash so she can explore.
She can be shy with strangers at first, but when she warms up to you she will talk to you and wind through your legs to get attention. She loves to play with strings, or toys on a string, an occasional socked foot, LOVES to be brushed, and is a big fan of catnip :-)
She lived with another cat and an indoor bunny. She has no experience with dogs but I don't think it will be an issue as she is pretty passive.
She comes with some food, a litterbox, litterbox mat, fleece blanket, toys, brush, cat carrier, harness, and leash.
We are seeking a rehoming fee of $175 to cover this last vet visit and shots.
