The aftermath of the May Tops Supermarket shooting has shown that the talks we’re having about race in Western New York aren’t leading to the progress we say we want. More than ever, we need the boldness to move beyond false politeness to authentic conversations that produce real change. Two powerhouse speakers join forces in Buffalo, NY, to demonstrate how to make that happen.
Robin DiAngelo Renowned author of the book that has changed the game: White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard For White People To Talk About Racism Nanette D. Massey East Buffalo resident and facilitator of the workshop “Moving BEYOND ‘White Fragility’: Honest And Effective Conversations About Race” Together, they bring over 25 years of leadership in racial justice education. With frankness and practicality, audiences will be left with self-clarity and the ability to meaningfully contribute to dialogue and action within their spheres of influence. This full-day session led by the inter-racial team of DiAngelo & Massey will provide the skills and perspectives needed to build racial stamina and create more racially just norms and practices in our workplaces and community.
