Description

Fort Worth ISD (FWISD) high school students learn real-world trade skills in the classroom that prepare them for high-demand careers. You are invited to see how these skills can help their business succeed at the November 1 FWISD Student Showcase at the Teaching and Learning Center, 1050 Bridgewood Dr. in Fort Worth. The event is an open house style event so our business and industry partners can attend according to their schedule. Students from FWISD Career and Technical Education (CTE), Pathways to Technology Early College High Schools (PTECH), and the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) will provide live demonstrations from 10:30a.m. to noon. Business leaders will see students collaborate inside a STEM trailer and an AV production bus, interact at health science and biomedical technology labs, and more. “Our students are the future workforce, and we are getting them ready,” says Daphne Rickard, Executive Director of CTE. “We want organizations to see the great things happening at FWISD and the countless partnership opportunities available.” Over 15,000 FWISD students are participating in state-designated specialty programs throughout the district. These programs are focused on identifying and developing the student’s talents and providing opportunities to find their passion and the education that leads to high-wage, high-demand careers.
