Refinishing / Restoration / Make Ready Gig

Description

We are a small niche E-Commerce Website buying and selling small vintage and collectible items that are often in need of refinishing / restoration. We are looking to add to our cadre of refinishing contractors for jobs on a regular basis. We expect to be able to offer 5-10 jobs per week with each job taking around 30 minutes to 2 hours and a pay per job ranging from $30 to $100 (higher paying jobs will take longer). Your main tool will be a Dremel with a flex shaft or similar rotary tool, so you should already be very handy with one, have a steady hand, and good eyes (strong attention to detail is a must). Experience with detail oriented tasks, hobbies such as woodwork, leatherwork, jewelry, metalsmithing, miniatures, etc. would be a benefit to you and to us. Please include these experiences in your response. As each item is different and some items require more work to refinish we will agree on a compensation schedule reflecting the difficulty of each refinish job in advance, so you’ll know what you’re getting paid for each job before you start working on it and can invoice it appropriately. This is a 1099 job, not full or part-time employment. You will need to invoice us for each refinishing job. It is our hope that the better you are at refinishing the more jobs you can take on and thus the more you can make. Items must be refinished on-site for security and insurance reasons during business hours (9-5 M-F) Refinishers must use and maintain their own equipment (ex. Dremel flex shaft or similar rotary tool) and supplies. An assortment of ancillary tools/supplies (ex. wheels, polishing compound) is on-site to be used for training purposes or as a courtesy. At a certain point, you’ll be directed to appropriate resources if you do not have your own tools/supplies.
