Description
If you're considering auditioning read this first.
I had to ask him repeatedly to send his song list. I replied with which songs I know--about half of them, enough to audition with and give him an idea of my ability. I also listed a few dozen other songs I know to show him I know plenty of funk songs; got no reaction, not even "those songs suck".
Then I had to ask him repeatedly where they rehearse, took him 5 days to answer me.
Arrived at audition. I plugged in and was ready to go. He asked me which song I wanted to play. I said "you have the list, you pick one." He got his phone out and looked. Asked me if I knew such and such song. I told him I didn't. He looked at me and said "You don't know that one?" Remember, I had already replied to him with which songs I knew and didn't know. He picked a couple I did know and we played them. I played them exactly like the record. Then he asked me a third time if I knew the one song; again I said I didn't know it.
Keep in mind he never told me I had to learn all his songs for the audition, plus I already told him I didn't know them all. (Sorry, I don't learn a band's entire set unless and until I'm in the band.)
Audition lasted about an hour. When we finished I was getting a bad vibe from him. Said our good-byes and I waited for his decision. That was 2 months ago. Never heard a word from him again.
This is a guy who wants a pro attitude but does not reciprocate.
This was two months ago. Hmm, I wonder why he can't find anybody.
