Smith Excavating LLC., is hiring Experienced Chainsaw Operators, Traffic Control Flaggers, Experienced Equipment Operators in your area. The road begins here. Are you cut out for this ride? We are seeking an experienced Chainsaw Operator that can work 5 days a week 10–12-hour days on land clearing projects. Qualified applicants must have 2+ years of experience in chainsaw use as well as have experience working around heavy equipment. In addition, applicants need to possess a valid driver's license... Essential Responsibilities & Duties • Aid Tree Climber/Boom Operator. • Operate equipment, such as brush chipper, loader, chainsaw, and other equipment and tools. • Adhere to all safety rules and company regulations. • Work safely and help maintain a safe work environment. • Assess site, terrain and weather conditions before felling, bucking, and moving trees. • Appraise trees for certain characteristics, such as twist, rot, and heavy limb growth, and gauge amount and direction of lean, use knowledge of tree characteristics and cutting techniques to control the direction of a tree's fall with the least damage. • Work as member of a team. • Operate, maintain, and repair chainsaws, cleaning, oiling, and greasing equipment, and sharpening equipment properly. • Performing other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications • Pruning, removal, and general tree care. • Be able to pass a background check including drug screening. • Three years of experience operating chainsaws in a safe manner. • Certifications in tree removal is a plus. • Understanding of proper techniques in felling, limbing, and bucking trees. • Understanding of proper mechanics and techniques to using a portable rope winch or able to learn those techniques. • Must be able to take direction from others and be a team player. • Ability to effectively communicate.
