Description
Hey! Thanks for checking out this post. Summary of our company: We are a small, but very rapidly growing company in Downtown Pittsburgh. Downtown Pittsburgh Dogs has been serving the downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods since 2012 with dog walking, cat visits, and overnight sittings for friendly dogs and cats. We have a great time and we do awesome work--but don't take our word for it--check us out on Google, FB, Yelp, and Instagram to see what others have to say about us. We are growing our team and looking for someone who would be an awesome fit to be an Overnight Pet Sitter for the Downtown Pittsburgh Dogs Team. As with all positions, there are some good things and some bad things that come with the position, so let me detail a few of each so you know some general things if you plan to apply. The bad stuff first: -You will deal with a lot of s***. No, not the bad stuff from annoying people, but from working with animals. Yes, you need to clean up when the dogs poop (but, we have bags for that), and you mat get some slobber and dog hair on you as well. -You are going to have to work hard. We work with enthusiastic and happy dogs. They need a strong handler and you have to be able to lead assertively while keeping all of the dogs safe. This is not a good position if you are a not a "leader". -The pay kind of sucks. Well, you won't get rich, but you can make a decent side hustle money if the numbers align with what you need. An overnight sitter might work about 5-10 nights a month, and you will earn about $300-500+ per month, depending on availability. So if your schedule and situation allows, this is an easy gig. -As an Overnight Sitter, you will be staying with friendly dogs in their home when the client's are not home or traveling, so if you have your own dog or cat, this might not be a good position, as you will be staying with someone else's animal. If you can't be away from your home because you have obligations there, this won't work. We are with the dogs from 6p-8a, and we are walking and feeding and hanging out with the dogs during that time. -You will have to be able to travel/navigate to local neighborhoods to be with the dogs. The good news: -If you like friendly dogs and cats and want to make money staying (and cuddling) with them, this is a win-win position. -You can connect to their wifi while with the dogs and study, relax, or work other projects. If you are good at being disciplined, this is a great gig (You can't study while driving for Uber and you won't spend extra gas driving all over). -All the places we stay are super safe, and you have DPD Team backup as well. -These overnights don't happen all the time, and they are easy to get to around the city. -There is no dress code. You do have to wear clothes and clothes that are functional for walking and can handle the elements. Practical and functional is what we do. -We work independently and autonomously and get lots of work done. Our team is super productive and we celebrate hard work. If you are not allergic to work and a quick learner and sharp on your feet, then this is the place to be. We have a detailed training program that helps get folks up and running fast! Now, if all if this sounds interesting, then you will want to pay attention. Instead of replying with a cover letter and some canned response, you will need to go to our website and find our application page. It can be found at and fill out an application after watching the short video. We do this so that we get people to apply who actually read to the bottom of this posting and actually care about details and paying attention. That means a lot to us! Thanks for reading and hope you apply for our Overnight Pet Sitter position.
