Press release from the Town of Davidson: Posted on: January 4, 2021 Posted on: January 4, 2021 Davidson Police Responded to Attempted Abduction, No Evidence of Crime Davidson Police Officers responded to a reported attempted abduction of a child on January 3, 2021 at approximately 3:30p.m. in the Runnymede development in the Town of Davidson. A vehicle with two men reportedly stopped at a stop sign and spoke to an eleven-year-old child as the child passed the vehicle. The vehicle was stationary for a couple of minutes before turning around, passed the child and drove around the child's father, who was standing in the road, before exiting the development. The statements made by an occupant of the vehicle, reported to police by the child and parents, were innocuous and not threatening or enticing. The intent of the vehicle occupants is unknown, but our investigation at this time has found no evidence of a criminal offense being committed by the occupants of the vehicle.
