Full- to part-time position available as an assistant to a Dutchess County based Organic Garden Designer. Flexible scheduling is available, although applicants should expect between 25 to 35 hour work weeks. No experience in gardening is required, but a strong constitution and physical fitness is a must, and assistants will have the opportunity to learn gardening skills. Will probably work till snowfall. Opportunity to work independently with somewhat flexible schedule. Work takes place primarily at private homes in Northern Dutchess County. Responsibilities: Mulching Planting Digging Pruning Trimming Raking Watering Requirements: Reliable means of transportation to work sites Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions Physical strength: ability to lift 50 lbs bags of gravel or handle a full wheelbarrow of mulch or compost comfortably Flexible work schedule No experience in landscaping or design necessary Ability to work independently after training
