Through lecture, experiential activities and discussion they will identify the stress and relaxation response, types of meditation and imagery as well as indications for use in acute, outpatient and self-care. Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to: Discuss the indications and contra indications for use of meditation, mindfulness and imagery in the acute care and outpatient settingsList two evidence-based research studies supporting practice in mindfulness, meditation or imageryExperience the role of the practitioner and recipient of an imagery sessionResources and Tools: (Lecture based programs you MUST provide references and tools for the learners specific to the session’s topic. For M&M, Case Conference, and Tumor Boards you must provide references and tools to cover the academic year.) Joint Accreditation Statement: In support of improving patient care, Northwell Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
