Description

Learn all of the techniques first-hand to weave your very own Adirondack Pack Basket. If you're a native of the Adirondacks, or even a frequent visitor, you're sure to have seen this type of basket in and around your travels. Favored because of it's ample storage space, simple design, and sturdy nature, this basket was a necessity for early mountaineers. Though today we don't see many folks using pack baskets on a daily basis, they're an iconic part of Adirondack history, and a wonderful intro to basket weaving. Joanne Bevilacqua is a talented Adirondack native who is currently based in Saranac Lake, and has taught several successful basket-weaving classes previously at Tupper Arts. We are excited to welcome her back for yet another class! All necessary materials and instruction are included in this class, and you'll be able to walk away having learned a new skill - and a new basket to prove it! This class will last most of the day, with a break for lunch. Bring your own, or indulge in a delicious sandwich from Well Dressed Foods, located right across the street.
