Family Matters SibShop: Sibling Support Project Workshop

As part of the Academy of Natural Sciences' September 24th Access to Science event, FamilyMatters will facilitate a free support group for typical siblings of children with special needs! This group offers opportunities for siblings to gain support and meet new friends in a safe and fun environment. Through group activities, children will be able to understand more about disabilities and learn how they can have a more meaningful relationship with their sibling. This workshop is open to children ages 8 to 12 years old. Confirmation messages will include a link for registrants to complete a release form for the attending child. In order to encourage attendees to share their honest opinions, the workshop will take place during the second hour of the Access to Science event, while their families visit the museum. After the conclusion of the workshop, guests are encouraged to provide an opportunity for siblings to use what they've learned by continuing to tour the exhibits.
