GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — An organization that has worked in Greenwich Village for 118 years announced Monday its first-ever chief operations and strategy officer. The Greenwich House, a nonprofit that "enriches the lives" of children, families, and seniors working to overcome life's ups and downs through arts, education, and senior services, announced Alexis Offen as a new member of its leadership team. It is the first time the Lower Manhattan organization has hired a person in that position, and Offen will be in charge of key operational areas, strategic initiatives, and evaluating efforts from within Greenwich House. "Over two decades ago, I began my career in community engagement and relations in the West Village at New York University," Offen said in a news release. "I am thrilled to return to the community to work with Greenwich House, an iconic and historic neighborhood institution." Before coming to Greenwich House, Offen served as Chief Operating Officer at the Trust for Governors Island. Previously she took a role in the Bloomberg administration as a senior policy advisor and counsel in the Mayor's Office, and as a vice president for real estate at Empire State Development. Offen is also a member of WX Women Executives in Real Estate and serves on Riverside Park Conservancy's Board of Trustees. You can find out more about Greenwich House on its website.
