Description
I'm a bassist starting a new band with like minded players, borrowing from jazz, soul, dub, funk, and avant garde. I hope to move fast toward goals of playing out and recording, with eventual festivals and small tours.
Concept: Start with deconstructed covers with our collective vibe. Add originals (yours and mine) as we see fit. I envision this as instrumental, though I’m open to vocals. A lot of this depends on the collaborators.
Project inspirations: MMW, Club D’Elf, Cochemea, Herbie Hancock, 60’s/70’s Miles, Mark Guiliana’s Beat Music, Butcher Brown, Yussef Dayes, Dub Trio, Nels Cline, Dap Tone bands, Jazz is Dead, Benevento/Russo Duo, Now vs Now, Kneebody, late 90’s/early ‘00’s downtown NYC scene (Wetlands, Tonic, Knitting Factory)....
Interested in drums, keys (classic organ and e-piano sounds and/or synths), horns (bonus if you play keys and/or electronics), guitar, percussion.
