Our regular sax player is unable to make a gig that our show band is contracted to play in Everett on Saturday, October 1st, so we are looking for fill-in tenor sax player. If all goes well, there could be more opportunities for you to play with us in the future. ABOUT THE BAND: Based in Newton, NH (just across the state line from Amesbury, MA) and performing all of the greatest Doo Wop and early Rock’n’Roll classics, Billy D and the Rock-its is an eight-piece show band bringing audiences the authentic sound and style of the ‘50s. ABOUT THE GIG: The music we play is not especially complex, but there are some songs that have signature horn parts that you will need to learn. Our regular sax player has offered to write out some charts, but you might also need to learn some parts by ear. Again, this is not difficult music, but it is highly structured. In many of the songs, you will also have the opportunity to improvise solos based on pretty basic changes, so it should be a lot of fun for you!
