Description

A successful aviation-based STEM youth education program needs YOUR support! If you don't think you can make a huge difference in the world... think again - and keep reading! Project: JACKPOT (Joint Aircraft Construction for Kids, Parents, Opportunities & Training) is making the next generation of pilots, engineers, aerospace workers, astronauts, aircraft mechanics, and avionics specialists. High School age kids and their parents are building a real, flying airplane - right now. They're learning the hands-on skills that USED TO BE taught in schools: metal work, mechanical assembly, riveting, shop skills, working in teams, taking responsibility for safety and qualioty, building something of value, problem-solving. When the kids and parents have completed the airplane, they will then get tremendous pride in seeing the airplane they built actually take off and fly. After it is flown, safety-tested, safety-inspected, and approved as "airworthy" by the FAA..... these kids will fly in the airplane they built. The kids will have the option of learning to fly in this same airplane, earning a Student Pilot, Sport Pilot, or Private Pilot FAA license. When that young person goes to interview for a high paying career at an aerospace company, and their experience includes safely building, testing, inspecting, and flying an aircraft... what do you suppose their chances are of being offered a career position? Project: JACKPOT is already succeeding, the wings of our first aircraft have been built, and the second 1/3 is starting now! You can help make this program succeed, by volunteering a few hours of your time, and you don't even need to know anything about airplanes at all! You cn make a difference by supporting the project financially (we're a proper 501c), or you can make a difference by just connecting us with businesses or organizations that can provide financial support. Most of us are pretty upset about how today's kids are just not getting the education and experiences that build character, build confidence, build resistance to drugs and poor lifestyle choices. We did something about it, and we think you might want to do something about it too.
