Description
Testing the waters: ideally looking for someone retired or semi retired who wants to work part to full time 4-6 weeks every fall. This involves operating and maintaining a seed corn harvester. Previous experience with heavy equipment and some mechanical abilities is a plus. Having your own basic tools is a plus. Having a dependable, cautious. and conscientious work ethic are all musts since this is working with heavy equipment. Having your own vehicle to get to the fields is a must.
This work typically takes place Sept. 1- Oct. 10. A typical work week can be 1 to 7 days. (A total of 20 days per season is average-no night work). Competitive and fair pay according to previous experience with similar work. I will hire the right person through a local labor contractor. Therefore, drug testing will be a requirement. Part time off season mechanical maintenance work on your availability is possible.
This year may involve mostly training. Ideally, this will be in preparation for the 2023 harvest season but a quick learner could be used part time this year. I'm looking for someone who would like to come back every fall for the next several years.
If you are interested, please respond to this ad and tell me a little bit about yourself, previous experience, and availability. Please leave a phone number that you can be contacted at. I will first ask you to come and see the harvester at work. At that point if it looks like something you would like to pursue, we'll talk. Thank you for inquiring.
