Project Lead POSITION JOB PURPOSE: To ensure that projects run on schedule, under budget, within scope, and as stress free to the client as possible. The Project Lead is responsible for everything that happens on his jobsite and for any subordinates’ workmanship, behavior, and responsibilities. The Project Lead has authority over anything that directly impacts his project. He is the face of the company to the client and to his team and vice versa. This position involves a wide variety of “hands-on” skill as well as an ability to communicate with clients, contractors, and co-workers. You are responsible for managing people in the field and completing the work that MP Diversified Contractors would specifically be responsible for performing. Employee must complete on site construction work and manage client expectations or requests. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Reading plans, coordinating and supervising field personnel on daily tasks and performance in compliance with local and national building codes. 2) To manage his own project including manpower, subs, materials, and schedule and to communicate the same to the company owner and customer as appropriate. 3) To manage customer relations and ensure that, at any point in the project, the client is confident in the project and has complete trust in MP Diversified Contractors to look out for their interest. 4) To train and mentor the team members on his site (through example, one-on-one communication, and group teaching) in order to ensure they grow in personal skill, knowledge, and character as representatives of MP Diversified Contractors and perform their work in a safe manner. 5) “Hands-on” carpentry work including, but not limited to, the following: a) Light framing work b) Frame-to-finish of small additions c) Construction of temporary walls d) Interior millwork, trim, doors and windows e) Exterior siding and trimwork f) Tile and finish work g) Punch list creation and completion 6) Completion of field reports 7) Ordering of necessary supplies and project-specific materials. Obtaining materials from suppliers and retail locations. 8) Night meetings with clients as necessary 9) Other tasks as assigned by MP Diversified Contractors. KEY RESULTS AREAS: 1) Ensure that Daily Logs and check-ins are properly completed by 6 PM each day. 2) Ensure that any changes to Job Schedule are reported by 6PM Wednesday and 6PM Friday. 3) Ensure that material and subs are on site on time. 4) Remedy any immediate personnel issues and inform Director Of Operations of the same. Lead is authorized to take any appropriate action up to and including termination of employee if necessary. 5) Talk with one team member per week about performance and how they are doing personally and professionally. Encourage the good and correct the bad, promptly. PAY RANGE DETERMINED BY EXPERIENCE AND WORK ETHIC.
