The Goddard School in Danbury is currently interviewing for a Lead Preschool Teacher. Lead teachers must be degreed. A positive, dependable, responsible, dedicated and caring personality is a must! Two years or more experience in Early Childhood Education is preferred. The Goddard School uses the most current, academically endorsed methods to ensure that children have fun while learning the skills they need for long-term success in school and in life. Our talented teachers also collaborate with parents to nurture children into respectful, confident and joyful learners. Daily Responsibilities Our Lead and Assistant Teachers work together on: Developing lesson plans. Meeting the individual needs of the children. Parent communication. Participation in staff and training meetings. Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom. Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning. Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level. Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills. Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff. Building teamwork. Using assessment tools. Committing to continuing education.
