Accurate Pavers is looking to increase its ranks with hard-working, efficiency-focused, and detail-oriented field supervisors. The Field Supervisor coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the projects on schedule. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. Supervisory Responsibilities • Directly supervising 35 to 45 employees in the field including drivers, crew leaders and installers. • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. • Training field employees. • Planning, assigning, and directing work. • Appraising performance. • Addressing complaints and resolving problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the projects on schedule, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications • Maintains construction schedule, identifies, and solves problems • Understands the project plans and specifications as given/described by appropriate company representatives • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees • Prepares, schedules, and supervises completion of project • Promotes job site safety and ensures all supervised employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy • Assembles members of organization (supervisory, sales, administrative and other workers) as necessary for successful completion of project • Directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules • Constructs construction activities within federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations • Other duties may be assigned To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: • Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics • Project Management – Coordinates projects; communicates changes and progress; manages project team activities • Customer Service – Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments • Interpersonal Skills – Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; maintains confidentiality; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control; remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things • Communication – Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening • Change Management – Communicates changes effectively; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events • Organization – Provides and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; organizes or schedules other people and their tasks • Managing People – Takes responsibility for subordinates’ skills activities; makes self-available to staff; improves processes, products, and services • Ethics – Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; works with integrity and ethically; upholds organizational values • Professionalism – Approaches others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepts responsibility for own actions; follows through on commitments • Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan • Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time • Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly • Initiative – Volunteers readily; seeks increased responsibilities; looks for and takes advantages of opportunities; asks for and offers help when needed Education and/or Experience • Two plus years related experience and/or training in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of multiple employees and projects Other Qualifications • Must possess current driver’s license • Must be able to travel/drive 60% of the time between projects/job sites Skills and Abilities • Ability to speak fluent Spanish and English • Language Skills – ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees • Mathematical Skills – ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. • Ability to perform these operations using American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. • Reasoning Ability – ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
