Black Matter: The Play explores taboos in the African American Community. Originally created and performed as a stageplay back in 2018 and 2019, "Black Matter" is a commentary on Black lives and Black taboos such as abuse, Black on Black crime, Black mental health, the Black LGBTQIA community, the plight of Black woman, and so much more. The author, Aubrey-Simone Williams re-writes the cutting edge play as a memoir that describes her life's journey and thought process for the powerful monologues and spoken word poetry exhibited in the play.
