Our Fourth Annual “Day of the Dead” Festival is happening on October 29th from 4-9pm at Maryland Hall, Annapolis. In Mexico and many Latin American countries, Day of the Dead is a celebration to remember friends and family who are no longer with us. It is typically a joyful celebration, not a mournful one. The date generally falls the day after Halloween and coincides with the anglo “All Saint’s Day” observance.
In Annapolis, this will be the City’s Fourth Day of the Dead celebration, where it has gained increasing attention from around the region, in collaboration with OHLA (The Organization of Hispanic/Latin Americans) The Center of Help, The Office of Multicultural Affairs of Anne Arundel County, Chesapeake Children's Museum , and Maryland Hall.
This year’s Day of the Dead festival will be held outdoors at Maryland Hall starting at 4 p.m. on October 29, with a DJ and live music, dancers, dance classes, an art and artisan fair, a kid’s zone, face painting, a latino art gallery, food and drinks and indoor and outdoor entertainment.
