In 2011 the City of Philadelphia City Council passed the Bouncer Certification Ordinance.
The City of Philadelphia requires all persons engaged in any security function where liquor is served, bars, restaurants, fraternity, outdoor venue to be certified by a City approved Instructor.
The penalty for not being certified is a $2000 fine, per person.
