ABOUT THE MASTIC BEACH CONSERVANCY In early 2021, in the middle of an isolating pandemic, a group of neighbors began planning wetland cleanups and imagining a new future for our beautiful, yet underserved home of Mastic Beach. What started humbly grew into the Mastic Beach Conservancy—a 501-C3 non-profit with hundreds of volunteers who work with local and national government bodies, environmental organizations and our community at large. The conservancy’s mission is to ensure that the Mastic Beach waterfront can be accessed and enjoyed by future generations through thoughtful design and good environmental stewardship. Our initiatives range from creating blue and green trails around our peninsula, to helping revitalize Violet's Cove. We set in motion a plan for an oyster, kelp and eelgrass seeding project in the Great South Bay that will clean and restore our local waters and provide educational and art opportunities for local youth.
