Dear families, Join us for a fun community activity! We are inviting children of all ages to help us paint a mural on the barn at the Utah Refugee Goat Farm that will be mirrored in a Ukrainian Refugee Camp in Germany. Come join is in a global ray of sunshine reaching across the world to unite our community members and refugees. When: Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 10 AM Location: 175 S Main St, Salt Lake City, UT 84111 Spry’s Operation Sunshine is a project to spread sunshine and bring the community together. We hope to see you there! More about the event: Spry, an oral health product company, will launch Spry’s Operation Sunshine in honor of Gail Halvorsen, (the candy bomber, spreading sunshine to war affected children) on Saturday, September 24th. This event will be a ray of sunshine spreading across the world. On this day, all refugees children, adults, and community members alike will come together to paint a mural at the East African Goat Refugee Farm. “My dad, Colonel Halvorsen, was often heard singing “You are my sunshine” and would call children that he interacted with “sunshine.”- Mrs. Halvorsen (daughter of Gail Halvorsen). “It is in his honor that we have worked with community organizations to continue his mission to spread sunshine by hosting activities for refugee children that will help spread sunshine and help them feel integrated into their new communities.” - Nate Jones, CEO of Spry Not only will this mural be visible at the East African Goat Refugee Farm, but additionally there will be a mirrored mural in Germany at the Refugee children’s camp Spendenbrucke/ Tamaja- Berlin. This mural is scheduled to be painted by refugee children in October. These mirrored murals connect the past, the future, the hope, the journey, the SUNSHINE. We would love to see you at this event interacting with goats, children, and taking part of this sunshine.
