ACES/Trauma Informed Care - Decatur CountyIn partnership with: Decatur County United FundDecatur County Community Foundation One Community, One FamilyAbout this in-person event: TOPIC: What if the largest public health discovery of our time is about when we were our smallest?  From birth, the impact of human relationships and interaction with the world around us will have profound impact on our lives.  The ACE Study confirms, with scientific evidence, that adversity early in life increases physical, mental,  and behavioral problems later in life.  Every person's life is unique, and we don't need all the details to create trauma-sensitive environments to reduce potentially traumatic interactions. We can reduce toxic stress and improve executive skills for our children in any environment we create.  ACEs tend to create risk, but ACEs are not destiny and our body always keeps the score.
