Second Sunday Sapphlix Movie Night is back on September 11th at 8pm! Hosted as always, by the one and only - Kennedy Grace! 🌅💛 The film RAFIKI won this past month’s Second Sunday Sapphlix poll by a landslide!! Rafiki is a groundbreaking 2018 Kenyan romantic drama film directed by Wanuri Kahiu. The film follows the love, relationship, and romance of characters Kena and Ziki, and depicts their love story and all of its nuances. As love blossoms between the two women, they find themselves face to face with the complexities of navigating queer love in their communities. The film is inspired by Monica Arac de Nyeko's "Jambula Tree", which chronicles a story of two girls in love in Uganda. We’ll be screening the film both inside our taproom and outside on our patio so that everyone has enough elbow room. There will be free popcorn 🍿 and an announcement of next months movie so you can go ahead and put it in you calendars/spread the word for October! We can’t think of a better way to end our week than building community, drinking good beer, munching on some popcorn, and winding down with a WLW film!
