We will build upon the work we started last fall when we talked about “reculturing” our schools to respect and honor the history, culture, and language of every teacher, learner, and family in our schools. An important aspect of "reculturing" our public schools means fully engaging and inspiring ALL learners with relevant and socially- just curriculum that respects learners' language, culture, interests and assets. Dr. Sylvia Rousseau will guide us in expanding our conceptual understanding so that we enhance our ability to design instruction that is respectful, relevant, and powerful. Additionally, sample lessons will be experienced by participants and there will be an opportunity to receive additional compensation for lesson planning with your school team.
