https://thesailingclub.us/classes/ The five day sailing program is held over 3 weeks. You will learn to sail a 14 foot Hunter 140 sailboat. There will be two shore classes held on a weekday in the first and third week from 6pm to 8pm at the Winter Park Library and three water classes held on each Saturday at Lake Baldwin from 9am to 1pm. The tuition is $185 plus $15 for the Start Sailing Right! textbook by U.S. Sailing. Prerequisites: Sailing is a physical sport. Your training will include being seated on a one-foot high bench seat, moving from one side of the boat to the other, righting a capsized boat and climbing into the boats from the water. For your own safety, we require the following as a minimum for your ability to participate. You should be able to complete 5 standing squats, 2 knee push-ups, and swim 100 feet while wearing a PFD(life jacket). If you have any orthopedic or other health problems, please contact us before registering.Students must bring their own Personal Flotation Device, aka Life Jacket.All other equipment is provided.
