Description

Flash floods in Pakistan have left 33 million people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance as the number of deaths and injuries continues to climb. Flooding has caused damage to vital infrastructure including thousands of miles of roads and bridges, has damaged or destroyed over 1 million homes, and has caused over 800,000 livestock to perish. Islamic Relief teams on the ground have distributed 1,120 cash grants; 2,950 food packs with basic staples including flour, rice, and oil; thousands of gallons of clean drinking water daily; and hundreds of hygiene kits, kitchen sets, and tents for shelter. Long-term efforts focus on providing shelter, non-food items, and multi-purpose cash grants to 30,000 families in Pakistan affected by flooding.
