Description

Young people dreaming of a performing arts career face great hurdles in these uncertain times. We’re writing to ask you to support the Betsye Kay Finch Performing Arts Foundation, Inc.’s annual scholarship fund to help Polk County high school seniors pursue their passion for dance and musical theatre. Please support our scholarship by attending our fall Gala, A Touch of Broadway, Act II on October 20, 2022, featuring dance, music, hors d’oeuvres, and drinks at the Junior League in Lakeland. Founded in 2019, the foundation honors the late Betsye Kay Finch, a tap, ballet and jazz dancer who led Betsye Kay’s School of Dance for over 30 years and also performed in community theatre. Betsye’s motto, “Dancing gives wings to my passion, voice to my soul!” Our most recent scholarship recipient, Oshea Darrington of Lakeland, a 2022 graduate of Harrison School for the Arts, is excited to attend Millikin University this fall. We hope to increase the scholarship amount for next year because of the generosity of people like you. Please help us “give wings” to Polk County high school seniors’ dreams of a performance career. Choose a level and bring your friends! Each sponsor’s name will appear in our October gala program and on the BKF Foundation’s website as patrons. Live performances lift performers’ spirits along with the audiences’! They transcend cultural boundaries, spark imaginations, and enrich communities! Please support our scholarship fund!
